Hi Joel, currently the image editor is not enabled when you upload product images using the upload image option in the new editor (Google Forms like interface).

If you would like to edit the images, click on the product to select it > click on the gear icon for that product > Product settings page will be displayed > click Change > upload the image > image editor will be displayed > you can crop the image as required and click Save. Please try this and confirm.
